Here is an excellent golf training drill from Steve Bann – great for freeing up the swing and encouraging a free flowing swinging motion – rather than simply moving from position to position to position.

On the eve of the President's Cup, Bann Lynch co-founder, Steve Bann has been nominated by the PGA of Australia for the World Golf Teachers Hall of Fame. Currently there are just 15 of the world's best coaches to be inducted and includes names such as David Leadbetter, Gary Wiren and Jim Flick. To be nominated for the Hall of Fame, the teacher must have been actively giving lessons on a full time basis for at least 20 years and be judged in the highest regard by their peers.

With these criteria in mind and after long deliberations, the PGA of Australia were proud to nominate Alex Mercer, Charlie Earp and Steve Bann. Each have dedicated their life's work to teaching this great game of ours and are outstanding representatives of the PGA of Australia, said CEO Brian Thorburn. A great honour for Steve.

With the warmer weather in the past few weeks, we have seen significant improvement to course conditions and now look forward to the opening of the new 10th and 13th holes on the 1st of October. The 10th Hole will be a 122m Par 3 and the 13th will replace the old 2nd (Par 4) and become a 435m Par 5, getting the course back out to a Par 70. The 10th will play slightly uphill with the green angling from front left to back right with a bunker protecting the back right pin placements. The tee shot on the 13th will require a drive between trees both left and right to the top of the hill, where the inviting vista of the green below awaits.  Strong players will be able to reach in two shots, but the added length will improve safety on what was a semi blind tee shot in the past. Both holes are sure to be well received by all players. There will also be some improvements to course furniture and upgrading of paths.
