New Holes to Open – 1 October 2011

With the warmer weather in the past few weeks, we have seen significant improvement to course conditions and now look forward to the opening of the new 10th and 13th holes on the 1st of October.

The 10th Hole will be a 122m Par 3 and the 13th will replace the old 2nd (Par 4) and become a 435m Par 5, getting the course back out to a Par 70.

The 10th will play slightly uphill with the green angling from front left to back right with a bunker protecting the back right pin placements.

The tee shot on the 13th will require a drive between trees both left and right to the top of the hill, where the inviting vista of the green below awaits.  Strong players will be able to reach in two shots, but the added length will improve safety on what was a semi blind tee shot in the past.

Both holes are sure to be well received by all players.

There will also be some improvements to course furniture and upgrading of paths.

Tiger Woods vs Usain Bolt

For a long time people have argued about whether golfers are truly athletes.

Well… at the highest level… many are just that!

Steve Adams works as High Performance Golf Coordinator for Bann Lynch star Geoff Ogilvy and examines that question, in a comparison of two great modern day sports stars.

Steve also looks at some quick and easy warm up exercises for you to get the best from your own golf game, and also an insight into dealing with injury, from diagnosis to treatment to getting back on course.  He highlights an injury sustained by Geoff Ogilvy earlier this year.
